Policeman held seducing ‘foreign’ woman in market
Arab Times, Kuwait City, Nov 6, 2010: Hawalli securitymen arrested a policeman for harassing an American woman and urging her to commit immoral acts, reports Al-Rai daily.
The policeman allegedly followed the American while she was shopping at a mall in Salmiya and kept flirting with her and even attempted to give her his telephone number. When the woman confronted him, he verbally abused her before leaving the premises. The woman then called her husband and together they went to Rumaithiya Police Station and lodged a complaint. The suspect was soon arrested based on information about his vehicle’s number plate.

One of my new female coworkers was just telling me how she was pulled over last week on the way to work. All he wanted was her telephone number. She said it has happened to her several times since moving here a short time ago. I told her we stopped counting a while ago. ;D
My Mom, in all her 22 years of living in Kuwait, has only ever been pulled over once by a cop and all he wanted was her number lol.
ReplyDeleteOMG! Such a disgusting thing to do. No wonder some of the policemen get their @$$es handed to them by citizens. It would be funny to spray some mace on some of the low class policemen. Some Kuwaiti newspapers tackled this issue and urged the Ministry of Interior to not accept anybody without checking their background and such. These type of people are a waste of space, air and a uniform. Lawsuits are the answer & hire the lawyers with big guns.

ReplyDeleteDr. Mo Mo ~ it's happened to me in the USA as well. (New Orleans and New York City). They were gentlemen so no harm was done. Not like here when they pull you over and demand your telephone number. I tried to give a fake number the first time it happened to me and then he called it right away. He busted me for lying because my phone didn’t ring that was on the passenger seat. Then he became very angry. I gave him my real number to get rid of him. I started crying like a baby because I was scared and so he drove off. I reported it at work. I've heard it happens all the time to women from every nationality. Now when it happens I have a trick that works for me.

ReplyDeleteWell I'm a somewhat pretty girl in my early 20's, and life has not been fun in Kuwait to say the least!
The last time I drove a car was 3 years ago. I was at my friend's farewell party in Salwa. Nothing crazy, just a bunch of friends having dinner.
I left her place at about 11:00PM. I was on my way home when I noticed a big Black Cadillac Escalade with a bunch of guys tailing me.
I ignored them like I do all the time. I stopped at the Red light and then BAM! He smashed into my car. 3 of them get out of the car and laugh their asses off like its the funniest thing ever and they start harassing me.
I'm a small girl 5ft 3in, 46 Kilos. Imagine how scared I was! I did not get out of the car. I called 777 and told them I had gotten into an accident and gave them my location.
After 2 minutes a police car shows up with 2 cops. I thought now it was safe to get out of the car! BIG MISTAKE!
Long story short...I was molested by one of the cops and he tried to drag me into the Police car. He told me I had to go to the Police station to file a police report so I could get my car fixed by my insurance.
I told him I had to go to my car and get my jacket and my bag. I just remember getting into the car and speeding as fast as I could, taking wrong turns and running Red traffic lights.
When I got home I was so shocked that I was trembling and crying like a maniac. They would have probably raped me if I had gone with them.
It was such a traumatic experience that I dont drive anymore! I dont go out alone anymore! I dont go out after 7:00 PM. I still have nightmares about that night!
Anyways girl stay safe and keep blogging!!! Sorry for the long post!!!

ReplyDeleteI want to mention that there are many good policemen here and that there are bad people everywhere in the world, including the USA. I know several police officers here that are very good, honest men. They do a terrific job and save lives.
